If you fancy some sightseeing, Carcassonne is an hour away and on the way, is Mirepoix with its wonderful medieval square. Foix is 25 minutes away and the whole area is steeped in Cathar history. Lac Montbel is 20 minutes drive and provides sailing, swimming, windsurfing and other water sports.

The house has many original features and there is a garden with a lovely setting down by the river L’Hers where you are welcome to relax and enjoy the magnificent views of Montsegur.

Our aim is to provide a comfortable and friendly environment in which to enjoy your holiday. We have 4 rooms available: three with double beds and one with twin beds (which has the option of a third single bed). All rooms have ensuite bathrooms with shower, toilet and sink. There are tea and coffee making facilities & hairdryers in all rooms.

As walkers ourselves, we have tried to include those services which are difficult to find and which can waste precious holiday time. Thus we offer packed lunches on request as well as washing machine and drying facilities and Broadband internet access. We also have a good range of walking guides and have translated some walks we feel are particularly good and can give advice and information of various areas and walks. We also can provide chauffeur services to or from walks.

We also offer quality table d’hote meals comprising four courses with wine, prepared using fruit and vegetables from our own garden when in season. Vegetarian meals by prior request are also welcome.

We have a no smoking policy in the house though there is a courtyard smokers can use.

Throughout the year, except for the month of August, we offer free guided walks lasting 2 to 5 hours. These walks are not very difficult.
