About the Pays de l'Ours label For tourism professionals in the central Pyrenees the presence of the bear provides them and the region with a shared identity. Since 2001 mountain guides, inn keepers, farmers, bee keepers, shepherds, producers and craftspeople (over one hundred in all) have been working to create a network of professionals who share the same values and offer quality products and services that are respectful of the environment. The auberges in this network are small establishments that offer good quality fare (and often accommodations) in a rural mountain setting. Each aubergiste takes particular care to create a warm and convivial ambiance. You'll also find there an array of literature concerning the Pyrenees, the mountain environment, the bear and its reintroduction, which are at your disposal during your stay, whether for just one meal or for a week. Don't forget to order the Menu du Pays de l'Ours, inspired by the bear's diet and prepared using traditional, local produce. It's another way to discover the Pyreneen patrimony. Restaurants and accommodations on the site who have obtained this label: Auberge Les Myrtilles à Salau For more information: |
