Philippe and Dominique Lacube’s farm is located high in the Ariège river valley at the foot of the cross-country ski station at the Plate- de Beille (which often hosts the finish of a mountain stage of the Tour de France). They raise a herd of Gascony cows using the traditional farming methods of the Pyrenees. In June the cows are led to the high mountain pastures ("estives") where they will graze until the first snowfall; they spend the winter months in the barn eating hay cut from the meadows in the valley. Dominique and Philippe also raise ducks for foie gras, which they sell along with other farm products. They are passionate about the farming life they have chosen to lead and enjoy sharing and recounting their experiences to visitors. In summer you can hike up to the estives with Philippe to see the herd and learn about mountain ecology. When you arrive at the farm, you'll be welcomed in typical mountain style with an an aperitif and suggestions for walks in the vicinity. Once a week Dominique and Philippe host a farm barbecue for their guests. In winter, you’ll explore the transformed landscape, and visit the barn where the herd passes the winter. The largest cross-country ski station in the Pyrenees is just a few kilometres away from the village. For your stay on the farm, they offer 3 gîtes and 4 chalets :
